BJJ Over 40 Is Not Just for People over 40
when Roy Harris released his DVD BJJ over 40 the focus on the DVD was that it presented advice and game plan theory for those people over the age of 40 who enjoy practicing BJJ as a hobby. Since many of these individuals had family and work responsibility that made their training time limited they were in a negative position in regards to dealing with younger opponents who would bring a lot of speed, stamina and energy to the table. Since most BJJ instructional videos dealt with sport jiu jitsu they general provide little help for hobbyists who may have special needs such as those over 40 folks.
On Harris' tape he provides an methodology that stresses relaxation and conserving energy and uses this methodology for overcoming the difficulties one may face when dealing with younger opponents. However, you do not have to be over 40 to gain benefit from this training method.
For example, is you cardio less than it should be or are you nursing an injury? If so, you could greatly benefit from Harris's method as well.
