Resting Injuries

When you have a passion for something it can be very difficult to take a step back and stop doing what you are doing. This is a pretty noble notion, but it can also be somewhat misguided as well. Consider the following: if you are a person who loves to train everyday and then suffers an injury it may seem abhorrent to take a few days off even when an injury occurs. This, folks, is not the brightest move to make because the sheer volume of problems that can derive from training while hurt would take several pages to document. So, let's mention the number one problem right away: when you train on an injury you develop th potential for making the injury worse. Then, a minor problem can become a major one and you will end up on the shelf for a while. This means you will need a ton of time to get your skill level back to where it once was as opposed to improving. Really, when you look at it, most injury healing time is rather limited so there is no reason to train with an injury. Avoid this mistaken notion at all costs!
