In June of 1997, my life changed forever when I took my first lesson in the art of Brazilian jiu jitsu as I would embark on a long process of learning the art and science of this art...as well as a little bit about other submissions arts such as catch wrestling, shooto and sambo.

Now, the first few years were particlarly bumpy mainly because the instruction at the time was pretty awful (truth be told), but I did overcome a number of obstacles to become a talented hobbyist in the art. Hopefully, I can share some of what I know with those who are interested
